My name is Annie McGillian. I've been in love with movement my whole life! I was born dancing, I grew up dancing, and can lose hours trying to fit movement together to tell a story. Movement has always been my passion. My junior year in college I had to take a yoga class for a semester. This introduced me to an entirely new way of moving. It invited me to slow down and really feel into my body. Not only did yoga invite me into my own body, but I noticed that I felt more present and less anxious after class. It seemed as if the barrier that I had often felt between me and everyone else dissolved for a bit. It took me a few years but after the birth of my second child I decided to become a certified yoga teacher. I received my 200 and 500hr teaching certification from Yoga Life Institute. My yoga training reinforced my strong belief that the mind and body are so connected, you can't heal one without the other. Yoga has taught me that we are whole beings. Each one of us is our own unique ecosystem. Inspired by this vision I decided to go back to Yoga Life to continue my education and become a yoga therapist. It is my hope that I can help others discover freedom and healing through movement. I believe that every experience we have ever had is stored in our bodies and through movement and yoga we can set those stories free!
My Mission
Let the Spirit Move You is a place you can go to recover forgotten things, to pick up the pieces of your life and to sew them all back together. My Mission for my work is to create a safe place to come and reconnect with your center, to remember what it feels like to play, and to recover the spark that lights you up. The world is so full of suffering and so much of what makes us suffer is self inflicted. My goal is to help you to quiet the limiting thoughts in your head and to move beyond stress, anxiety, and whatever else is blocking you from being in the flow of your own being and authenticity.
